It serves its purpose which is as an aid to my elderly mother who I had found using the toilet paper roll holder for support. Apparently the install was easy, my husband did it. We will probably have to upgrade soon. Do not recommend for anyone who cannot walk or stand w/out support.

This is the sort of item that a customer might need very quickly, and Allegro Medical and Amazon did an excellent job. The only negative thing I can say about this bench is that its surface could be more comfortable; however, I knew this before I selected this model. Invacare makes another model that is only a little more expensive, and it is probably a little more comfortable, but it also takes up more space. This one fits into our oversized shower beautifully. The larger, more comfortable model seems to be designed more for a tub/shower combination in which you place only one end inside the tub/shower.

(More customer reviews)The bath bench was a disappointment because we were replacing a Guardian bath transfer bench that was purchased in late 1998 and the features in this bath bench is not comparable to our previous purchase. First, the suction cups are too small (compared to the original) to keep the bench from moving when transfering on or off. Second, this bath bench is shorter than the original which, when straddling a bath tub, is too short to sit completely inside the tub enclosure. Third, the seat back is tilted back (rather than straight up like the original model) which makes the bench unstable for those disabled persons with limited torso and upper-body strength and lifts the front of the bench when leaning too far back. Finally, this bath bench, unlike our original bath bench, does not include a commode bucket or pail so it could also be used as a portable commode.
