With little sense of balance, but decent remaining upper body strength, this, my transfer board and a little prayer allows me to do an unassisted transfer. Even if your upper body strength is weakened, the BedCane will give you and your caregivers some needed help. I use it on a standard full-sized bed with a headboard... a squishy mattress and low half bedrail hospital bed hindered more than helped. Best of fortune to you and your loved ones.
